Mornings with Marilyn: Launching Dr. An

No, that’s not a typo. Dr. An is spelled with one “n” because she gives An-swers, get it? She would like to give An-swears too but Marilyn forbade it. Alright, I’ll back up a bit.

Remember my show, Mornings with Marilyn? Well, it’s a daily video show on Facebook and episodes touch on topics like positivity, gratitude, mindfulness, trauma, and self-love. Members of my show have hosted me so far in Sydney and Gold Coast, Australia on my South Pacific speaking tour. New Zealand may still be in the cards – let’s see.

So, when I went to visit the sage in a cage, Kodi James, at the Goulburn Correctional Center, on January 5, 2019, I received inspiration. Kodi suggested I don a costume and play a character on my show to bring out the sassy side of me. How he knew me well enough to tell me that is another story, as this was the first time we’d met in person. A week ago, I’d met a woman who wanted me to come and run workshops for those re-entering society from prison, in Queensland. Maybe corrections work is in my future, who knows?

So, yesterday, I fulfilled Kodi’s vision. I put on a doctor’s coat, hung a stethoscope around my neck, and gave myself a makeover with a prissy bun, lots of lipstick and some serious attitude. Behold: Dr. An.

She stole the show and lambasted Marilyn for her gentle approach, saying that life isn’t safe, it’s brutal and you have to fight back. She took questions sent in earlier from three characters and gave them direct prescriptions for what to do. Dr. An represents the unleashing of the sassy feminine. She tells it like it is, and is likely to burst through any restrictions Marilyn tries to set for her. I could talk about it, but to really understand what Dr. An is all about, join the community and see for yourself!

If you’d like to hear more from Dr. An, vote for her to come back on the show. You’ll get a chance to submit your questions live next time! Contact me for details. And oh, try not to laugh.
