Racism in Charleston

I thought about what I could say with regard to the Charleston church shooting. I’ve had things to say about racism that I have faced in the past. And more recently I’ve been writing about violence, having experienced time in a workshop in the SF County Jail with incarcerated men who have inflicted violence and been targets.

Jon Stewart, one of the few people who sees and tells it like it is, has done such a remarkable job, that I will simply defer to him. His account of what happened in Charleston, and why it happened, is spot on. We need to pay attention to our wounds, and heal them together in nonviolent ways.
