Product Review: Delicious Plant-Based Snacks from Made Good

I’m excited to review a delicious line of products from Made Good. Parents and teachers, if you’re stressed about nut allergies or other food sensitivities, and want snacks that are safe for school, look no further. This brand provides a very delicious set of flavors with none of the nasties, including gluten or shellfish or peanuts. In sum, it’s a snack that is allergy-free, plant-based, organic, and gluten-free. Full disclosure: I offered to review these products and I’m not being paid. Just doing my part for healthy choices, and telling it like it is.

Let’s get into the specifics of this deliciousness. Along with three friends, I tried three products: Chocolate Chip Granola Bars, Chocolate Banana Granola Minis, and Chocolate Chip Crispy Squares.

Chocolate Chip Granola Bars: These are smaller than I would expect for a granola bar, but packed with flavor and impressively chewy. My friends told me they like the aftertaste and lingering flavors. I found it sweet for my palette, since I typically avoid processed sugar. These products contain sugar cane syrup. In terms of nutrients, I would like to see more protein; this bar has only 1 gram, but then again it’s a pretty small bar.

Chocolate Banana Granola Minis: These are little balls of granola. I found them to be a bit dry and crumbly but packed with flavor, and I like the banana and chocolate combination. I love that there’s veggie powder in this product, 2 grams of protein, and all in all, not a bad snack. It’s a very small portion, so it’s great for children and for anyone wanting to keep portions small. I would suggest maybe making the balls a bit bigger and going for the moist and chewy texture.

Chocolate Chip Crispy Squares: I found it amusing that these bars are actually rectangular – haha! But, these took me back to my childhood – they taste like Cocoa Pops cereal in a bar – lightly crunchy but also chewy, sweet, and delicious with a very familiar aftertaste. This has the potential to be an instant favorite!

Aside from the very sweet taste of sugar, which is unusual for my taste buds, these products are flavorful and very satisfying, and easy to take with you on the go. My friends and I wiped out the contents of the three boxes within 24 hours. They said: “Three thumbs up! Yum!”

Made Good products come in a variety of flavors, including these classics aside from chocolate: strawberry, vanilla, and apple-cinnamon. Made Good is reasonably priced ($2.51 for a pack of 4 minis, for instance), supportive of women’s leadership, and working towards zero waste processes. Try some of their products and see for yourself, and follow their blog to learn more about Made Good.
