Moby: Skip Showers for Beef

As someone who has researched how to quantify and visualize the carbon footprint of our actions, it’s hats off to Moby for the Skip Showers for Beef campaign. You would need to skip 37 showers for one quarter-pounder. Er, does that sound ridiculous? Well, California produced 177 million pounds of beef in just April of 2014 (hold on, my eyeballs just fell off, I’ll go retrieve them). How’s that for ridiculous?

Right, so, go ahead, get stinky so you can eat that beef! Or you can go vegan, like Moby. Or embrace some of the many other common sense options.

Thanks to my colleague, Stanford climate-behavior scientist Carrie Armel for this one.
