Biomimetic Drinking Water Technology

The field of biomimicry is gaining momentum and generating inspiration for technologies and social innovations. Some of the amazing nature-inspired technologies to emerge recently include a clean water maker. Essentially a condensation device, it mimics a Namibian flightless beetle that generates clean water in this way. The device is called Dew Bank Bottle; it is shaped like the beetle’s shell and designed to generate condensation overnight, which trickles into a bottle and is ready for drinking in the morning, even in arid climates. Fabulous!
